Dr. S. Gerber’s expertise is in standard and advanced methods for Gene-expression and NGS-data analysis, biostatistics and multivariate analysis of high-dimensional and heterogeneous BIG data sets. Furthermore, she and her group are focusing on the development of methods and pipelines for the integration of Omics data as well as trans-Omics analysis approaches with the aim to identify networks and relations across various omics-layer (e.g. genome, transcriptome, epigenome and proteome). Published work of Dr. Gerber and her group includes gene-expression data analysis applications, analysis of epigenetic features like histone and DNA modifications and data-driven investigation of methylation patterns in genes associated with longevity.  Her work on development of new data analysis methods and pipelines includes development of novel regularized clustering methods for multi-dimensional data analysis, pipelines for automated (pre-)processing and enriching of data from NGS sequencing techniques like RNA-seq and Chip-Seq and Bayesian modeling and reduction methods for general categorical data.
